A complete physical exam is important for identifying and addressing problems early. Complete physical exams (Unlimited!) are included for ALL wellness or medical visits for one year.
Vaccinations are necessary to protect your puppy against infectious diseases. All routine vaccinations for the first year are included.
Fecal Analysis (2)
Package includes two fecal screens to identify intestinal parasites that are common in puppies.
Routine deworming (2)
Package includes two doses of dewormer to treat for roundworms and hookworms which are common in puppies.
Ear swab/cytology (2)
Ear swab with cytology will check for bacterial or fungal ear infections which can be common in puppies. Package includes two ear swabs with cytology.
A toenail trim will be performed at each wellness visit.
Bloodwork will be performed prior to your puppy’s spay or neuter to assess overall health prior to anesthesia as well as to establish a baseline for the future.
Spay or Neuter
It is important to spay or neuter for your puppy’s health and behavior and also to prevent pet overpopulation. Spaying or neutering your puppy is recommended at 6 to 8 months of age.
Should your puppy ever get lost, a microchip can help reunite you quickly. A microchip, the size of a grain of rice, is typically inserted at the time of spay or neuter.
This blood test is performed at 8-12 months of age and tests for heartworm disease. Heartworm disease is transmitted by mosquitos and is prevalent in Michigan.
First dose of heartworm prevention
Heartworm disease can be fatal to dogs! Preventative will be started at your puppy’s first wellness visit and should be continued lifelong.
