In memory of…

BUTTON MARCEAU

Our kitty, Button Marceau, was born on November 3, 2003. She has been part of our family since she was 4 weeks old and weighed a whopping 9 ounces. She was all tummy with black fur, tiny paws and a short straight tail. She adopted our black lab, Travis, as her dad and used him for warmth and protection. She tucked herself in so well that it was hard to tell where she ended and he began.

She was about 8 weeks old on her first Christmas and loved the fact that we had a tree in our living room. She would climb almost to the top and peek out at us so innocently, after having knocked off ornaments all the way up and, of course, doing it again on the way down. She loved to knead the tummy of anyone that was sitting or lying down. She would knead and purr like a little outboard motor until she was exhausted. She loved to play with Polly Pocket's little rubberized clothing and accessories because they would bounce across the floor as she chased after them.

She was sassy from day one, haughty when it suited her, went through a chubby phase, and never met a box she didn't love. "If I fits, I sits," was a favorite phrase in our house. She entertained us, calmed us, worried us, frustrated us, and loved us. We loved her from the moment we met her and will love her forever.

Button had many health issues in her senior years that were a continual balancing act with medication, doctor visits, and trips to the emergency room. We were fortunate to have the veterinarians at Compassionate Care Animal Hospital to help take care of Button in her last 3 years with us. We know that Dr. Kemner, Dr. Forbes, and all of the staff at CCAH, through their expertise and compassion, helped Miss Button live a longer, healthier, happier life. We are so grateful for their love and support. We chose to end Button's suffering on the evening of April 9, 2019 after a restless day for her that ended with her in respiratory distress. We are grateful to Kayla, Alisa, Jerri and Dr. Forbes' tenderness in her final moments.

We miss our little Button so much already and we know it won't be easy as we face the days ahead without her, but we are so happy that we were and always will be her family.
